We recently had a great trip down to Devon to collect some gorgeous new work from Blandine Anderson. We’re really lucky as we get to visit studios, discuss work with artists and get to know them and how they work. We’re often asked what our makers are like so while we were with Blandine we took the opportunity to ask her a few questions about herself just to give you a little insider knowledge about this talented maker, especially as she’s our Maker of the Month!

- Place of birth: Cuckfield, West Sussex
- Where do you live now: The wilds of North Devon
- What is your favourite view: The Irish Sea – just off Cill Rialaig, Basllinskelligs Bay, Kerry. R of Ireland.
- What animals do you own: Shetland sheep, Border Collie, Bees, 2 Cats (mousers).
- Who or what is your inspiration: Mainly the Natural world. It is where I find my Peace and my Thrills.
- What is the last book you read: Birdsong
- Favourite song: Difficult – it’s a different one every day. Currently “God Man” by David Sylvian.
- Favourite author (I have to ask this we live in a book town!!): I can’t choose…..Milan Kundera, Albert Camus, Mervyn Peake, Daphne Du Maurier
- Favourite food: Roast Shetland Lamb
- Where did you train: Exeter college of Art and Design
- What piece have you been most happiest with: Often the one I have just finished !
- Childhood ambition: To live in a thatched cottage in the countryside and keep lots of animals (I ditched the thatched cottage!)
- Favourite place: See No. 4
- What would your specialist subject be on Mastermind: Ooooh ! Can’t really see myself being any good at that.
- Who would be your three ideal dinner guests: Freddy Mercury, Jean Arp and Hugh Fearnley-Whittinstall. (they might not get on)
- Tell us something about yourself that not many people know: I dream in colour
