As I sit here looking out of the gallery towards Ascari’s cafe on site I can just see the back of Dara O’Briain enjoying a quiet moment away from the crowd. Maureen Lipman was in today, as was brilliant childrens author Lauren St John.
Andy Fryers, Director of the Greenprint Festival brought his son Ben in to see the lovely Paul Smith polar bears. Greenprint is the Hay Festival programme of managing and mitigating the environmental impact of the Festival, programming debates and discussion on sustainable development….bit of a mouthful? It just means that the Festival is concerned about the environment and committed to doing something about it and keeping it at the forefront of our consciousness. And Ben is seriously cute!
We’ve also entertained Tiffany Murray, award winning local author, who’s new book “Diamond Star Halo” is seriously good and well worth getting stuck into. Cerys Matthews read a bit of it on BBC6 Music, it had rave reviews from the Guardian and Mark Radcliffe called it ‘Cider with Rosie with an impeccable soundtrack’. It’s a really good, laugh out loud read!
Tiffany Murray rather liking our pop icons!

Loving the Blog! Almost as good as being there!!
